EOC - Week 8 - Advertisement

For my product I am going to create an audio ad for the radio or online radio. I’m going aim this ad towards the people of Las Vegas for the simple fact it’s a party town. I am offering a product that goes great with parties. I want the ad to be witty and blunt. One thing I thought would be a great idea is to have the theme of Valentines Day. The ad will be very simple and straight to the point, chocolate and alcohol. I’ll give you an example of the commercial; “You’re a mans man, you’re the man and everyone knows THE man has THE girl. When it comes to Valentines Day you give her what she wants, A PARTY! So go get your self some chocolate shot glasses by ChocoGlass and make the woman feel special. Its Valentines Day man!” This is the style I want, some simple and funny guys can relate to. I might add low music or sound effects in the end to give the final touches. But like I said Valentines Day is a perfect time to release a product like this. Not only is it an adult treat but it can also be a romance product. My ad is aimed towards men for the fact that men love alcohol, simple. But it’s also a great Valentines Day present FOR a man as well. In the end it all ties together and it will be a hit in the chocolate industry and romance industry.

Implementation Evaluation Control

"Implementation is the process that turns a marketing plan into action assignments and ensures that these assignments are executed in a way that accomplishes the plan's objectives" page 28

"Implementing a plan has another dimension: gaining acceptance. New plans mean change, and change creates resistance."

Marketing Mix Distribution

"Promotion is the means by which organizations communicate with present and prospective customers about the merits and characteristics of their organization and products. " page 12

"The heart of the marketing mix, the starting point, is the product offering and product strategy. " page 27

My market would obviously be in chocolate, and alcohol. The two biggest products released around Valentines Day. That’s how I know this product will be a success. I am going to distribute this product at liquor stores and local grocery stores. I would love to get into restaurants and bars; I believe a lot of people would try a shot out of a chocolate shot glass if a waiter at a nice restaurant offered it to them. Especially around Valentines Day, not only Valentine’s Day but there are anniversaries and celebration’s that occur everyday. This offers a new delicious adult treat for any occasion.

Market Mix Price

"Successful marketing mixes have been carefully designed to satisfy target markets" page 27

"Objectives must be consistent with and indicate the priorities of the organization. Specifically, objectives flow from the business mission statement to the rest of the marketing plan." page 27

Market Mix Promotion

"Promotion is the means by which organizations communicate with present and prospective customers about the merits and characteristics of their organization and products." page 12

“What's in it for me?” or “Why should I study marketing?” page 12

Promotion is key to any new  product or company. I plan on promoting my product through the radio and T.V. Although Im also relying on a holiday to promote my product. Valentines Day will definitely help with the promotion and sales of my product.

Marketing Mix Product

"A mission statement should focus on the market or markets the organization is attempting to serve rather than on the good or service offered." page 21.

"For example, Frito-Lay defines its mission as being in the snack-food business rather than in the corn chip business." page 21.

I am in the beverage business rather than chocolate business. My product is so diverse you can put it in almost any marketing category. But the overall purpose of this product is to hold a shot of liquor. Therefor I am in the glass or cup business.

Target Market Strategy

"A market segment is a group of individuals or organizations who share one or more characteristics. They therefore may have relatively similar product needs. For example, parents of newborn babies need formula, diapers, and special foods." page 26

"The target market strategy identifies the market segment or segments on which to focus."

Business situation or SWOT

"SWOT analysis identifying internal strengths (S) and weaknesses (W) and also examining external opportunities (O) and threats (T)" page 22

"When examining internal strengths and weaknesses, the marketing manager should focus on organizational resources such as production costs, marketing skills, financial resources, company or brand image, employee capabilities, and available technology."  page 22

We all know and love chocolate. It comes in so many different forms and the outcome every time is delicious. But of course when you have all these forms of chocolate, what do you do next? I know what you do, you stick alcohol in it! Yes liquor infused chocolates. Well not exactly but instead chocolate shot glasses. Imagine being at a party that offers you a shot of anything in a chocolate shot glass that you get to eat, you would not forget that. It doesn’t stop with just milk chocolate, we will have dark, white, white and strawberry swirl, the flavors are endless. Of course different liquor will taste better with a certain chocolate. We can let the customer make that decision. I even plan on making infused glasses as well. This is where I would collaborate with different liquor brands. For example I could team up with Johnny Walker, infuse the shot glass and slap a Jonny Walker logo on the packaging. It doesn’t stop at shot glasses, I would offer beer mugs and wine glasses. I would need to do some research on how to make these so that they don’t melt while you are trying to enjoy your beverage. I would probably have to put a hard shell candy around it almost like an M&M. I would promote these glasses through liquor stores and online, possibly grocery stores depending on the demand. This idea gives chocolate a whole new name and purpose. Many people would buy these, who doesn’t like chocolate and alcohol? I would definitely market towards college students and young adults.

Business objectives

"Focusing on customer wants and needs so that the organization can distinguish its product(s) from competitors' offerings" page 5

marketing concept the idea that the social and economic justification for an organization's existence is the satisfaction of customer wants and needs while meeting organizational objectives
page 5

Business Mission Statement

"The foundation of any marketing plan is the firm's mission statement, which answers the question “What business are we in?”The way a firm defines its business mission profoundly affects the firm's long-run resource allocation, profitability, and survival."

"A mission statement should focus on the market or markets the organization is attempting to serve rather than on the good or service offered."
